Career Guidance Infrastructure In schools

Ninety nine percent of schools in India don’t have career guidance Infrastructure and 93% of students are aware about only 7 careers. This clearly indicates there is an urgent need for career orientation programmes in schools. Career orientation should be treated as like teaching of any other subjects. It is very common thing that in the Indian context, because of lack of guidance, no matter how much talented the student is, one end up in wrong career choices . In these scenarios, the students with great deal of potential and aptitude in a particular field live a life of underutilisation.

The students at school should be exposed to different careers from 7th grade onwards and by 9th grade, they should take an aptitude test and it is on these basis that the Plus one stream should be selected .

We help the students to build a profile from grade 7 th onwards. Many higher educational Institutions assess profiles before granting admissions. The profiles are built on depending on their interests and capabilities, academic interests, non-academic interests and the other skills , they can leverage.

Mentoring

We mentor the students on short term and long-term career Plans. Every individual during their process of creating career plans develop both short−term and long−term goals.

Short−term career planning as the name suggests refers to career plans focusing on the time frame of few years. It is more commonly an approach undertaken by graduates or young professionals. They do not develop life−long plans. Their plans are limited to creating a strategy to attain maximum growth and acquiring relevant skills over the period of about 3− 5 years.

Long−term career plans are more of an attempt to draw a trajectory to match the vision the students have for their future. There can be many hurdles and changes along the way as the years pass by, this approach works on planning to modify or adjust the plan according to the situational factors.
